Dr. Ian Schere has been providing clinical and consultation services throughout San Diego for the past twenty one years. He divides his time between private practice, teaching, and clinical consultation and training for mental health organizations. The emphasis of his work is with children and adolescents with behavioral or emotional difficulties. Dr. Schere has served as the clinical supervisor for several mental health agencies including Casa de Amparo, San Diego Youth Services, The Salvation Army, San Diego Job Corps and is currently overseeing the counseling department at The Winston School in Del Mar. In this capacity Dr. Schere provides clinical oversight, supervision to program therapists, staff trainings, crisis intervention, group therapy, and specialized therapeutic services, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy & Motivational Interviewing, to the clients and their families. Dr. Schere has also been a psychological consultant for Langley Productions, assisting with casting and psychological oversight on a reality show featuring adolescents.

Dr. Schere has been a faculty lecturer at San Diego State University's School of Social Work, where he taught Lifespan Development and currently is an adjunct professor at Alliant International University where he teaches Introduction to Psychotherapy to first year doctoral students, Introduction to Motivational Interviewing and a seminar in Supervision & Consultation to advanced doctoral students. He is an active member of the San Diego Psychological Association's Supervision Committee & PCIT International's Continuing Education Committee.
Dr. Schere is certified by PCIT International at a PCIT therapist and level 1 trainer, and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
